Our specifications for learning and qualifications form the basis of the qualifications linked to SIA licensing. The specifications outline what an individual needs to know and be able to do in their role as a security operative.
In 2010 we updated our specification documents, which resulted in changes to the training and qualifications needed for an SIA licence. One of these changes is the introduction of a modular structure.
The 'Introduction to Learning Leading Towards Licence-linked Qualifications' document (download size 72kb) provides information common to all of the new specifications.
SIA licence applicants must take the relevant modules for the sector in which they wish to work. Trainers delivering training for the SIA approved qualifications must demonstrate that they have the necessary understanding of the relevant licensing sector.
