The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is continuing to develop new licence-linked qualifications as part of its review of industry skills and qualifications.
To allow all parties sufficient time to prepare for the changes, we expect to launch the new qualifications in autumn 2020.
The new qualifications will give a more robust foundation of skills and knowledge and reflect what we've learned from extensive industry consultation.
We are aiming to ensure that operatives have up-to-date skills that are critical to public safety.
We will provide further details on the changes in due course.
Qualifications awarded before the autumn will still be accepted for new licence applications and renewals.
