UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The FBI provides applicants with a copy of their 'FBI identification record' (criminal record) or advises that no such record exists. Applicants may obtain a copy by submitting a written request to the CJIS Division. The request must be accompanied by proof of identity - consisting of name, date and place of birth, a set of roll-inked fingerprint impressions and a fee in the form of a money order or a certified cheque made payable to the Treasury of the United States. Alternatively, applicants living in the US can request a criminal record search from their local police force. If you have lived in more than one state, you must obtain a criminal record search from each police force of the states concerned.

To obtain the Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence to work within the security industry, applicants must first obtain a set of finger prints.To book an appointment for your fingerprints to be taken, you need to contact the Visa Fingerprint Office on 020 7230 2099 between the hours of 8:30am - 12:30pm and 1:30pm - 3:00pm on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesdays or Friday. The appointments line is closed on Thursday, Saturdays and Sundays.

 

Fee - Customers are required to make a payment for this service:

£63 per person for the 1st set of fingerprints
£95 for up to 3 sets of fingerprints
£132 for 4 or more sets of fingerprints

Payment can be made by cash only.

Documents required by the customer should be the following:

Current passport or
Full new style UK Driving Licence with photograph and counterpart form D740

If your passport is being held by the Home Office, a letter and a photocopy of your passport is acceptable providing that it has been officially stamped. A covering letter on its own is not acceptable. You may also request for your passport to be released from the Home Office for 24 hours to enable your fingerprints to be taken.

When this step has been completed you will need to get in contact with Interpol Kampala, they will complete your application for an overseas criminality certificate and issue you with your certificate.

Information and your rights

Criminal Record is a Certificate issued by the Provincial Justice Department to individuals that may be hold information about you in relation to criminal convictions while residing in Vietnam.

According to the Circular No.07/TTLT-BTP-BCA of Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Public Security dated 08/02/1999, the foreigners are entitled to obtain information about yourself while residing in Vietnam.

How to apply:

You must apply in writing on the correct form (form No.1) and submitted included a copy of your passport and a copy of your residential certificate in Vietnam. Profile required to be made of 2 copies.

You can apply to the Provincial Justice Department where you are currently residing in Vietnam. In the case you have left Vietnam, you can apply to Provincial Justice Department where you resided before left Vietnam.

You may, if you wish, authorise the release of your applying to another person. In the case, this person must apply in writing on the correct form (form No.2). The proxy must have written and be certified by the People's Committee of communes where you or your proxy are residing. If you have left Vietnam, the proxy must be certified by competent authorities of the your country or you are permanent residing and must be legalized according to the provisions of Vietnamese law.

All forms can be obtained from Provincial Justice Department.
You may not apply for information about another person without their written permission.

Duration for issuing Criminal Record Certificate

The time frame for processing requests is 16 working days in normal case and is 33 working days in complex case, from receipt of the correctly completed application.
