The design of the SIA front line licence has altered over time.
We continually review the security features of our licence cards and will advise of any future amendments on this website.
Please remember that the definitive check of whether someone holds a valid SIA licence is our Register of Licence Holders, not the licence itself.
This design is the one that is currently being issued.
- The silver hologram has been replaced with a holographic overlay (similar to a driving licence) which is visible when tilted at the right angle. This is far harder to copy and also protects the picture.
- There are additional overt and covert security features on the back and front of the licence including UV, micro text and engraving.
- The picture size of the licence holder has been increased to almost twice the size of the old one.
- The chip has been removed and this has been replaced by a barcode and QR code which will take you to useful pieces of information such as the licence terms and conditions.
This design was issued November 2007 - June 2016.
