Licence Dispensation Notice (LDN) Training

Approved contractors may be given special dispensation to deploy staff that have completed their training and are waiting for their SIA licence application to be processed.

If you have been granted this dispensation then the Approved Contractor Scheme Terms and Conditions of Approval (March 2010) require that you have at least one member of staff trained by us who can properly administer the process.

Our e-learning module explains when you may issue a Licence Dispensation Notice (LDN), who you may issue it to and the rules you must adhere to. The e-learning comprises two parts:

  • A course covering the information you need to manage the licence dispensation process
  • A short test

It will take 1-1.5 hours to complete, and you will be able to download and print a certificate to keep for your records when you have successfully completed the test.

You can take the course and/or the test as many times as you like. We will automatically be informed when you have completed the course, and we will receive the results of your test.

You will be asked to register and provide your name, email address, company, and ACS reference number. Your ACS reference number can be found on communications you have received from us during the approval process.

Please note: clicking this button will transfer you to our e-learning portal, which will open in a new window. You can return to this site by closing the new window.

If you have any queries, or you have failed the test a number of times and would like some help, please contact us through your online business account (select 'Contact the SIA' and then 'I want to make a business enquiry'). If you do not have a business account you can register for one by following the link below.
